Drain & Sewer Service in Iona, FL
Serving the McGregor Boulevard corridor, from established homes to newer construction south of downtown.
Local Overview
Iona sits south of downtown Fort Myers along McGregor Boulevard, the royal-palm-lined road that runs toward Punta Rassa and the Sanibel Causeway. It's one of the more established residential areas in this part of the metro, with a mix of older homes closer to the McGregor corridor and newer development further from it.
A lot of properties along McGregor were built decades ago, which means the housing stock here skews older than some of the newer subdivisions elsewhere in the metro. That age matters directly for pipe material and sewer line condition.
Iona has a mix of sewer coverage, with older sections closer to McGregor more likely to still rely on older private lines than newer construction further out.
Why Drain & Sewer Issues Can Be Different in Iona
The mature landscaping that makes McGregor Boulevard recognizable also means decades-old root systems sit near decades-old sewer lines throughout the area, making root intrusion a frequent, specific cause of recurring clogs and line damage here.
Iona shares the shallow water table and sandy soil common throughout Fort Myers, which puts the same seasonal strain on older sewer lines here as elsewhere in the metro, particularly during heavy rain from June through November.
